Kass Visokey

“You are always a student and life is your teacher.  Always be curious, enthusiastic and open to change." -Debasish Mridha

Kass Visokey continues to bring her passion and extensive background in human anatomy and functional movements with her experience as a licensed physical therapist in orthopedics and sports medicine into all of her yoga classes.  Kass’ playful personality and disciplined nature allows her to fuse the best of Western medicine with the traditional practices of yoga to bring depth, clarity, and inspiration to your practice.  She is known for teaching subtle movements (which students have called “sneaky”) that will actually deepen your connection to your physical body and allow you to be in a state of moving meditation and awareness that you can steady the fluctuations of your mind!

Kass discovered a Bikram yoga studio on the upper west side in NYC in 2007 shortly after the birth of her second son. Since that day, yoga has found its way into her heart and soul.  She completed a 200 RYT in 2011 with Hot Yoga of NJ, now known as Fireshaper.  Another 200 RYT completed in 2013 with Garden State Yoga, now known as Powerflow Yoga.

With her medical background and yoga trainings that are a blend of traditions of yoga master Krishnamacharya and the yoga traditions of Iyengar and Ashtanga yoga, she has the ability to create classes that integrate elements of anatomical precision, mindfulness and power yoga in ways that are accessible and relevant.  Her creative sequencing is an intelligent, unhurried vinyasa flow that offers safe modifications for injury management and prevention.

Her teachings will educate and empower you with clarity, insight and connection to yourself and to the world around you.  She seeks to support you on your path of practice, teaching and self-inquiry, to thrive in life nurturing your body, mind and soul with yoga and ultimately, be inspired to live each moment more mindfully.
